Programme management

Augmentor is delivered by Digital Catapult.

Digital Catapult is managing the Open Call process and will be in contact with the applicants about the outcome of their applications

Your contact details

You will appoint a main contact for the programme (lead applicant). This will be Digital Catapult’s main point of contact for jointly defining the shape of your programme activities, workshop and event commitments, team members’ availability, ongoing activities, and assessment of progress during and after the programme.

Your contact details will only be used by Digital Catapult and only to contact you for the purposes of processing your application and, if your application is successful, to contact you in the future for help with measuring the programme’s impact on your business and the wider economy.

After the Open Call, you may be contacted about other relevant activities taking place at Digital Catapult, if you have opted in for this at sign-up stage.

Application Process

All applications must be submitted within the specified deadline on the Open Call page. You are able to register your interest as an applicant at anytime on the Augmentor website.

Once your complete application has been received, Digital Catapult will send you a confirmation receipt by email. If you do not get a receipt via email within 24 working hours of sending your application please email us at hello@augmentor.co.uk

Application assessment is based solely on the information provided as a response to the Open Call.

Your online application will be reviewed by the Digital Catapult in the first instance, discounting those not matching the basic requirements which results in a long list of applications.

Programme partners and mentors will then review applications and score them based on the uniqueness of the idea, the team’s ability to deliver, market readiness, size of the opportunity and likelihood to benefit from programme.

A final group of 20 companies will be invited to a pitch preparation day then selection day where they will pitch to Digital Catapult, programme partners and mentors to inform the final selection of up to ten companies.

Successful applicants will be sent a simple offer letter that explains the terms and conditions and programme commitments.This must be signed and returned before your company is admitted to the programme.

Please note that the application form requests some limited information about your company. This data enables Digital Catapult to maintain a baseline on which it undertakes future measurement of possible impact.

All companies accepted on the cohort must agree to the terms and conditions from Digital Catapult and its partners.

Digital Catapult reserves the right to amend this timetable at its discretion. All announcements regarding results of evaluations shall be announced on this website. Please do not contact Digital Catapult once the deadline expires to enquire about the outcome, this will be notified to you in due course.

IMPORTANT NOTE: No extensions to the deadline for responses will usually be granted with very limited exception to situations where a Bidder finds themselves seeking to request an extension due to reasonable extenuating circumstances, those circumstances being beyond the Bidder’s control and unforeseen to them.

Impact measurement

Digital Catapult is an independent organisation in receipt of public sector funding. To ensure we are effectively able to measure and monitor our contribution to the wider UK economy we collect business data on a periodic basis.  By participating in this programme you agree, on behalf of your company, to cooperate with us periodically over the course of the programme and for a fixed period (not to exceed 5 years afterwards) for the purpose of collecting up-to-date business data to support our measurement of potential impact.

Confidentiality

The information provided in your application will be kept confidential, provided it does not contain information already available in the public domain.

As your application form is being transmitted over the internet, ultimately we cannot guarantee its security.

However, we take every measure to ensure your confidentiality and are cyber-essentials certified.

We will store your application and the scoring it has received for the entire duration of the programme.

Immediate need

You have an immediate need to access computation power* Please note, that if your data contains personal data then currently we cannot host it in Digital Catapult. All other resources of the programme will be available for you, provided you are successful in your application.

Access to facilities and workspace

Desk space is not included in this programme.

For the duration of the programme, selected companies will have free use of the Immersive Labs in Belfast, Brighton, London and North East & Tees Valley – subject to availability. Selected companies, where relevant, may gain discounted access to other Digital Catapult facilities.

Access to facilities may extend beyond the programme end date, but this is agreed between your company and Digital Catapult.

Partners may provide additional benefits to their own facilities, this will be the result of negotiation between your company and each partner.

General

We accept no liability for any consequences, whether direct or indirect, that may arise from your participation, your reliance on any statements we may have made about the programme, or its suspension or withdrawal.

Due diligence

We will carry out due diligence on lead companies/organisations at the point of selection onto the programme and you must be willing to submit documentation upon request.

Intellectual Property

We respect the intellectual property of others, and we ask our collaborators to do the same. The unauthorised posting, reproduction, copying, distribution, modification, public display or public performance of copyrighted works constitutes infringement of the copyright owner’s rights. As a condition of your use of this site or facility, you agree not to infringe the intellectual property rights of others in any way.

You promise that you have and continue to have all necessary rights, licenses, permission and consent to provide the content in your application to us.

Your application will be screened privately by Digital Catapult, programme partners and mentors. We will not remove from applications any proprietary labels or copyright assertions.

Unsuccessful applications will be deleted from our systems at the conclusion of the programme.

For practical reasons, please don’t ask us or our partners to sign an non-disclosure agreement. We can only achieve these kinds of activities if we have the trust of the tech community so it is not in our interest to release your IP.

Equity

Augmentor discovers and supports the UK’s most commercially viable augmented and virtual reality companies. In order to ensure the security of future programmes, Digital Catapult may take a maximum of 1% equity in selected companies. This equity is simply a token of appreciation for the programme to help build its sustainable future. We do not wish to take an active role in your company’s future, we will not request a position on your board or advise in any way.
